For the last three years, American photographer William Eggleston has photographed the city of Paris as part of a commission for the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain. Taken throughout different seasons, these new images by one of the fathers of color photography portray the local and the cosmopolitan, the glam...orous and the gritty, the everyday and the extraordinary.
This exhibition also provides an exceptional occasion to bring together William Eggleston’s distinctive pictures and his recent paintings, an unknown aspect of his work that has never before been presented to the public.

En réponse à une invitation de la Fondation Cartier, le photographe américain William Eggleston mène depuis trois ans un vaste travail photographique sur la ville de Paris. Prises au fil des saisons par celui qui est considéré comme l’un des pères de la photographie couleur, ces nouvelles images dévoilent le pittoresque et le cosmopolite, le sublime et le trivial, le quotidien et l’extraordinaire.
L’exposition est aussi une occasion unique de découvrir, en regard des photographies, une récente série de peintures- un aspect peu connu du travail de l’artiste dévoilé pour la première fois au public.
