Hello! I’m GodessofCraft (Janice Titus) and am crazy about beads. I am very honored to have been chosen as Artist of the Month, and I want to thank you, Bob and Bettina, and, also, for making JustBeads such a great place to buy and sell beads.
This is my bio: When I heard about the Old Woman who lived in a Shoe, thoug...ht, “Really?!! When you could have chosen to live in a Bead Shop?”
I collect beads and hoard them. I no longer make jewelry with my gorgeous beads – not even for myself. Instead, I just sit and look at my them. I take them out, admire them and put them away, even though I may have had the best of intentions of parting with some of my collection. This month, I would like to share my stash with you.
Collecting beads is a job in itself. The early beader gets the bead…including the beautiful vintage jewelry. I used to arrive at the flea markets in the early-morning hours when the vendors were still setting up. I would walk around the entire place 100 miles per hour, checking out all the beads and old jewelry. If a necklace was broken, I would ask for a reduced price because “my girlfriend repairs jewelry, and she’s not cheap.” The best finds, though, were at Church Rummage Sales. The crystals were not scratched, and lots of earring and necklace sets were being offered, still in their original boxes, complete with real cotton padding.
Wonderful beads are also offered at the Bead Society Shows, Antique Shows, and Gem Shows. Your local Chamber of Commerce and City personnel can give you the calendar information you need.
I no longer go garage-sailing, or cruise the flea markets, or go to Gem Shows because I now have a Monday through Friday (and Saturday) office job. Thank goodness for JustBeads where I still am able to collect beads! My downfall is Vintage glass and lucite…I can’t get enough, and there’s tons of it listed on JustBeads. The only problem is that these gorgeous Vintage beads are very limited…in number, style, size, and color. Before I part with any Vintage beads, I take clear, detailed pictures because – like all good things (and all of us) -- when they’re gone…they’re gone.

Jackie JustBeads is a fun place to visit and I have found some real bargins. Thanks Just Beads!

Everyone at JustBeads is thrilled to welcome in the New Year! It would be an understatement to say that 2009 was not a fun year for us. Due to circumstances far beyond our control, last year saw a catastrophic system crash that literally wiped out 10 years of data and history in a matter of moments...

We wish each of you a Happy Holiday Season, and a Healthy and Happy New Year. As we come to the close of another year and reflect on the year that has passed and contemplate on the year that is to come, we find we have much to be thankful for...

Ring, ring..... Good evening. Boy oh boy, what a weekend it has been. We were hit with a nice size snow storm here in NYC and it looked like a winter wonderland. Have you seen the pictures of D.C? You could barely see the White House it was snowing so hard. Quite unseasonably cold. Brrr!...

Ring, ring.... Good evening!! This time of year can bring both joy and stress....I hope all of you can remember to try to focus on the joy of the holidays. A time when a family comes together to rejoice and appreciate both the big and small things this season will bring them...

Hello Everyone!
My Name is Beth'a El-Shamy but most of you know me as BethaBeedZ.
When I was asked to be Featured Artist, I was just over the moon. When I started listing on Justbeads years ago I always thought Um how do you become Featured Artist I want to be one. Finally the day came and it honestly has been well worth... the wait. I find it a true honor and I thank Bob and Justbeads for asking.
I currently live in Perrysburg, Ohio where my husband and I have 5 beautiful children ages ranging from 8 to 20 and 1 wonderful grand baby who is 2.
I was introduced to this art approx 6 years ago when my son was first diagnosed with Autism. Being consumed with everything throughout the day I found my mind still racing during the night and I needed an outlet to relieve all the stress and wildness of the often hectic days. Coming from a large family of published authors and comic book artist, I always felt like the black sheep of the family and left out in the art department.
And then I found Fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is where lampwork came into play. When everyone in the house is sleeping and nothing is stirring not even a mouse all you can hear is the sound of that lovely torch hiss of the fire and my imagination running wild.
I took a small break and went back to work in the real world but I am back and back to stay. I realized I was putting in 60 plus hours into a job I hated when I could have been right at home with my children and pursuing my passion yet again.
I am always open for suggestions and I am always just an email away. If you ever have any questions please let me know I do my best to answer when all the youngin's are in the bed.
I do all my work in a small studio that my husband bless his soul took almost the entire 6 years I have been lampworking to finish it up. Everything is one of a kind. When I sit down I never know what the fire will produce and that is the real beauty of it. Nothing will ever be exactly alike. My lampwork is sort of a family affair. My children love to give ideas and are always full of suggestions. Pulling and mixing the colors and combining different frits together is nice for them to take part in helping Mommy to make a true OOAK creation.
All the beads are kiln annealed in a digital kiln and given a nice little bubble bath so they are nice and pretty when they make it to their new home.
I want to Thank all my past customers who allow my passion to stay alive, without those loyal bead friends of mine it would not be possible so thank you so very much.....
I hope you enjoy and hope to see you in the near future.
Warmest Wishes
Beth'a

Hi everybody!
I want to thanks JustBeads for choosing me to be the featured artist and give me the opportunity to show my work to whole JustBeads community. I have been working with polymer clay since 2002. Art has always attracted me, and I have tried my hand at papier mache, oil painting, embroidery, etc... I trul...y enjoyed all of these styles of expression. However, no art form has come close to challenging my imagination the way polymer clay has. It is the perfect medium for my creativity, and I hope you enjoy browsing through the collection of my polymer clay designs. I live in Barcelona, Spain, with my husband, daughter, and three cats.
