As I mention on my website blog - when my US label left the bigger label they were with I was informed my mailing list had been ‘lost’...so, it would be a big help if you wouldn’t mind re-signing up as the list dated back to 2003... and it is no more...
Total bummer, as you might say in the states ;) but c'est la vie, no time to dwell on mishaps! If you click on the JOIN tab on the website there is a new form now, so you can let me know where you are in the world (if you wish), which is always nice to know, and you can also tell me what you’d like more of on my site, if anything springs to mind. I’ll be in touch now and then with news and free downloads - ONE COMING IN A FEW WEEKS!
I’ve also recorded some podcasts recently so I can let you know how and when to listen to those, just need to adjust the sound a tad - anyone here do professional podcasts? I'm using irec on my iphone but I'm thinking there might be a better way to get great/balanced levels for me & my subject, like when I'm interviewed on the radio. Perhaps I should use two individual small clip on mics or something...

Glass Pear is singer/songwriter Yestyn Griffiths. The Welsh-born singer is the younger brother of recording artist Jem. After co-writing songs for her debut “Finally Woken” and follow-up “Down To Earth”, Yestyn sent a 4 track demo to tastemaker DJ Nic Harcourt of KCRW. ...Nic’s early support for tracks “Last Day Of Your Life” and “Vultures” was instrumental in getting the music heard. In late 2008 the producers of 90210 chose “Last Day Of Your Life” to end the debut episode of the new series and Grey’s Anatomy featured the track in early 2009. Aptly described by Dave Matthew’s A & R as being like “Keane but with balls”, Yestyn cites Jeff Buckley and the Beatles as influences, while echoes of early Radiohead and Coldplay are heard throughout Glass Pear’s stadium-sized sound. Asked on NPR radio for her 2009 music tips, Gossip Girl’s music supervisor Alex Patsavas said that Glass Pear “will have a big impact in the future. [He writes} beautiful, melodic, well-crafted pop songs.” In October 2009, CW series Vampire Diaries featured Glass Pear’s song “Wild Place”. Fox's "Bone" followed with a prominent placing of "My Ghost" in November. The debut album “Streets of Love” is released on Yestyn’s own label WOL Records and is available digitally on iTunes (http://www.itunes.com/glasspear)/Amazon. The physical CD can be ordered from CD Baby (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/glasspear) “Until the morning comes”, a special collaboration with Jem (http://www.jem-music.net) was released in December. Why Glass Pear? Yestyn writes: “A lot of the songs I write are about the fragility and transiency of life and love. So I wanted to find a name that expressed that. Apparently the ancient Chinese believed that the pear was a symbol of immortality (pear trees live for a long time). Its also a symbol of affection in other cultures. In Chinese the word li means both “pear” and “separation,” and for this reason, tradition says that to avoid a separation, friends and lovers should not divide pears between themselves. It has always been one of my aspirations to move and connect people through my music, just as I myself am moved and connected through other musicians works. It is uncanny how the right song seems to come along and jump in your path, just when you need it the most...

Uploaded my 30sec commercial submission into the 'crash the superbowl' competition last night with 1 minute to spare and it's made me feel like I am due a day off today! A bit like the day after an exam, which I thankfully haven't done for years...
