James Ellroy was distantly related to Eli 'The Ugly' Wallach, check James' classic movie picks. Just googlise it yourselves.

Philip Chambers Sir you were fun as a guest host on TCM but it was unfortunate that the films chosen were within a narrow range!

Bombay Kris FULL STOP TO STOP. MOMENT TO MOMENT. DETAIL TO DETAIL. the telegraphic style you invented is still the newest shit in town

Knut You got to let Internet into your heart and understand that It loves you. It won't die for your sins but It will do almost anything else for you. Sir.

David Freeman you are not alone, Sir, in your "Latent Net-O Phobia". It cuts out a whole detective novel scene of protagonists being attacked or run over from behind or making a slick comment when pulling an overly-talky old lady to get to the phonebooth to call in a tip. It's tough to make a line like, "he ran fingers through his s...warthy, diner greasy hair and reached down, with hepcat aplomb to pull out his I-PHONE out of the inside pocket of his trenchcoat" There is simply nothing "Hepcattish" about an I-phone or a Blackberry. And how can anyone be attacked running down a lead while Googling his quarry from the safety of his 3rd floor office. (Detective offices ARE always on the third floor, aren't they?) ..This they call progress?

Darrell Dsilva i hated the film version of black dahlia so much i could've smashed josh hartnets stupid face in with the butt of my gun.......

Ruaidhri Look Good, Kick Ass, Get Laid

James Ellroy the admin's on a holiday, seen Lee Earle in the news, post it here plz....

DrJohn Reade The greatest living writer - without a doubt. Only William Burroughs (now gone) and Umberto Eco come close to Ellroy in making fiction more real than non-fiction writers have ever managed. I first read "Silent Terror" around the time I totally broke down - I will always be unsure where it finishes and I start.

Michael Demon Dog with the Hog Log!

Johnny Flamingo Listening to the CD version of Blood's a Rover is just insane! Fantastic!
