Adam Hills

Adam Hills (born in Sydney in 1970) is an Australian comedian. He began his career in 1989 as a stand-up comedian at the Sydney Comedy Store, however, he did not become well-known until moving to England and working there. It was later that he became well known in Australia after his successful appearances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Hills studied a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) at Macquarie University, graduating in 1991.

He has since appeared on comedy programs such as Rove Live and The Glass House and currently hosts his own popular music trivia show called Spicks and Specks. In 2003, Adam scored a minor hit with Working Class Anthem, in which he sang the lyrics of the Australian National Anthem to the tune of Working Class Man, a famous song by iconic Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes. Australians will best know Adam as the host of the fun music quiz show Spicks and Specks on ABC TV. Adam's playful personality, which has taken him to the top of the international comedy circuit, has translated seamlessly to his hosting role on the small screen, making him one of the most recognisable faces on Australian TV.

When he is not on Spicks, Adam is one of Australia's most talented and well-travelled comedians. His positive, energetic comedy and rampant spontaneity have won him universal acclaim, rave reviews and a swag of awards throughout Australia, Great Britain, Ireland and Europe.

Adam's solo shows are established highlights at the Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festivals, receiving five-star reviews and sold-out houses. His 2001, 2002 & 2003 shows were all nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival. The 2002 show, Happy Feet, took out the inaugural Best Of The Fest Peoples Choice Award in Edinburgh. Adam is also a regular at the Montreal "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival, having been invited to perform there the last three years.

Adam has also been known to host at least one Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala for Network Ten and has stuck his nose around backstage at the 2005 and 2006 Logie Awards for the Nine Network.

In 2007 Adam is heading out on his most comprehensive Australian stand up tour ever, kicking off in Adelaide and stopping off in every capital city
