Hey Peoples -- Jamie is playing in Chicago (not as has been rumored with Chicago) at the Congress Theater. Experience Jamie performing on the edges of control and chaos, turning the music inside out. Jamie likes to remind people that he prefers “Jim,” and Jim will be bringing his upside-down soul sampling to Chicago’s Congress Theater for his biggest U.S. show to date.
According to the reviews, Jamie was at various times, Little Richard, Jimi, Otis, Sly, Prince, Marvin, Stevie or some mashed-up combo of them all.

On July 25th, 2009, Jamie Lidell’s Congress Theater set will serve as the finale to Wicker Park Fest, Chicago’s most highly-attended street festival. He will be supported by Brooklyn’s most proficient stew of soul and electronica, Tortured Soul, and Chicago funk staple, The Right Now.
