Days of Tasu'a and Ashura this year is on December 26th and 27th

عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال : "ما رأيتُ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يتحرّى - يحرص على صومه لتحصيل ثوابه والرغبة فيه - صيام يوم ف...ضله على غيره إلاَّ هذا اليوم يومَ عاشوراء، وهذا الشهر يعني شهر رمضان " رواه البخاري
Ibn Abbas (radhi Allaahu anhu) also reported: “I never saw the Prophet more keen to fast on any day other than the day of Ashura and any month than the month of Ramadan.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee]
وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : " صيام يوم عاشوراء ، إني أحتسب على الله أن يكفر السنة التي قبله . " رواه مسلم 1976 ،

وهذا من فضل الله علينا أن أعطانا بصيام يوم واحد تكفير ذنوب سنة كاملة والله ذو الفضل العظيم؛ فلا تضيعوه أخوتى وأخواتنا
An that is of the great blessings of Allah to anexpiate the sins of a whole year for fasting only one day, so do not miss it brothers and sisters.
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: قدم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المدينة فرأى اليهود تصوم يوم عاشوراء فقال: «مَا هَذَا قَالُوا هَذَا يَوْمٌ صَالِحٌ، هَذَا يَوْمٌ نَجَّى اللَّهُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ عَدُوِّهِمْ فَصَامَهُ مُوسَى، قال: فَأَنَا أَحَقُّ بِمُوسَى مِنْكُمْ فَصَامَهُ وَأَمَرَ بِصِيَامِهِ» [رواه البخاري 1865].
When Allaah’s Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa-sallam) came to Madeenah, he saw the Jews fasting on the day of Ashura. He said: ‘What is this?’ They said: ‘This is the day when Allaah saved Moosa from drowning, so we fast on this day.’ Then he said: “We have more right to Moosa than you.” So he (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa-sallam) fasted on this day and advised the Muslims to do the same.
استحباب صيام تاسوعاء مع عاشوراء
روى عبد الله بن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال : حين صام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم عاشوراء وأمر بصيامه قالوا : يا رسول الله، إنه يوم تعظمه اليهود والنصارى، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : "فإذا كان العام المقبل إن شاء الله صمنا اليوم التاسع" . قال : فلم يأتِ العام المقبل حتى توفي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم . رواه مسلم
Also, Ibn Abbas (radhi Allaahu anhu) narrated: “When Allah’s Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa-sallam) observed the fast of the day of Ashura and ordered (the Sahabah) to fast, they said: “O Messenger of Allaah! It is a day revered by Jews and Christians.” Allaah’s Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa-sallam) said: “The coming year, if Allah wills, we will fast on the ninth (also). But the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) died before the advent of the next year ” [Saheeh Muslim, vol: 1, p: 359]
قال الشافعي وأصحابه وأحمد وإسحاق وآخرون : يستحب صوم التاسع والعاشر جميعاً؛ لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صام العاشر، ونوى صيام التاسع
وعلى هذا فصيام عاشوراء على مراتب : أدناها أن يصام وحده، وفوقه أن يصام التاسع معه، وكلّما كثر الصيام في محرم كان أفضل وأطيب
حكم إفراد عاشوراء بالصيام
قال شيخ الإسلام : صيام يوم عاشوراء كفّارة سنة ولا يكره إفراده بالصوم (الفتاوى الكبرى ج5 ) . وفي تحفة المحتاج لابن حجر الهيتمي: وعاشوراء لا بأس بإفراده… ( ج3 باب صوم التطوع ) .
صيام عاشوراء ماذا يكفّر ؟
:قال الإمام النووي رحمه الله
يكفر كل الذنوب الصغائر، وتقديره يغفر ذنوبه كلها إلا الكبائر.
نسأل الله أن يجعلنا من أهل سنة نبيه الكريم وأن يحيينا على الإسلام و يميتنا على الإيمان و أن يوفقنا لما يحب و يرضى ونسأله أن يُعيننا على ذكره و شكره و حسن عبادته وأن يتقبل منا و يجعلنا من المتقين ، و صلى الله على نبينا محمد و على آله و صحبه أجمعين
