24 October - Global Day of Climate Action!
On 24 October, people in 181 countries came together for the most widespread day of environmental action in the planet's history. At over 5200 events around the world, people gathered to call for strong action and bold leadership on the climate crisis.
Now it's time to catapult off of this day to to make sure our efforts count for creating a sustainable future.

Amazing! Everyone who arrives in Copenhagen for the UN Climate Talks next week will see the 350 message thanks to our friends at Oceana who just launched a creative ad campaign to: "highlight the need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to 350 parts per million (ppm) to avert a mass extinction of corals and likely decli...nes in the countless marine species that depend upon them, this century."
That means that every single government delegate who arrives at the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen next week will be greeted in the airport, in downtown, and at the central conference venue with billboards, films, and other advertisements all displaying the 350 message!
An enormous thank you to our awesome friends at Oceana ... and to all of you, too. Without the incredible actions and events that took place on October 24 the 350 ppm target would still be stuck on the pages of a scientific paper.
Your hard work and continued organizing during the big weekend of action Dec 11th and 12th (http://www.350.org/vigil) are taking 350 from the fringe and injecting it into the very center of the debate -- and onto great ads too!

The real action remains at home, though, now, and through the negotiations -- where civil society guides the will of politicians, who in turn provide negotiators with their positions! 350 team members, spread across the world, are headed to Copenhagen this week and we're all excited to share your photos and stories from Oct 24th --and really light a fire when your vigil photos (http://350.org/vigil) start coming in from the Dec 11th & 12th weekend, right in the middle of the negotiations!
